We who support women in the arts will not see the effects of our work in the form of food, shelter, increased opportunity, or achievements in the work force for the women whose lives we hope to touch. Instead, we rely upon a time-honored conviction held in all societies that life without art is merely existence. Our efforts to showcase women’s voices, dreams, and achievements in writing are aimed at feeding the aesthetic self, the creative urge, that which makes us truly human.

It is with deep gratitude that we honor our community organizations that recognize the value of OUR HOPE and help us realize our mission: The Port of Long Beach, the Arts Council for Long Beach, and the City of Long Beach.
