The Festival of Authors will operate in accordance with the Control of Covid-19 health orders of the City of Long Beach Health Department. For the well-being of all attendees, proof of vaccination will be verified for admission to the Festival. In addition, all individuals will be required to wear masks when not actively eating or drinking. Updates may be provided closer to the event date.
Most members of Literary Women serve on the Author Committee. The Committee meets throughout the year to share and discuss books and authors being considered for the Festival. Keeping the Festival mission statement in mind, this committee strives to represent a variety of genres in their selection process.

The cost of the Festival is $115.00 per person, which includes the four presentations in the ballroom, one presentation with a smaller audience and opportunities for authors’ autographs. Morning coffee and rolls, as well as lunch, are included.
Seating at the Festival is open and available on a first come, first served basis. There are no reserved seats.
No. Although the authors at the Festival are women only, male attendees are welcome.
The Festival is held at The Long Beach Convention Center, 110 Pine Avenue.
The parking fee is set by the Convention Center and is currently $15.00.
Yes, lunch will be served at the Festival as well as coffee and breakfast rolls before the event.
There is an option for a vegetarian meal when you register. Unfortunately, at this time we cannot accommodate additional special diet requests.
Yes, our Festival bookseller, Creating Convesations, will have a selection of the authors’ books available for purchase the entire day.
In honor of our co-founder, Harriet Williams, Literary Women Committee created the Emerging Writer Program to focus on our mission to support and encourage new writers of talent and promise.
